Celebrating Inspirational Women in Tech

International Women’s Day is an important occasion to celebrate, as we highlight its importance and take action towards women’s empowerment and achieving gender equality. During this month we would like to feature some of our women in tech that are part of the brainware team to reflect on their accomplishments; raise awareness and inspire our communities to make a positive difference for women in the IT & Cybersecurity industry. For the month of March, we will update this blog highlighting our brainware, showcasing our team members and customers reguarly.

1.                   What got you into working in the technology space?

I lucked into working in technology. But I am grateful to be here and be part of such a fast-growth industry.

2.           What inspires you to continue to grow within it?

The evolution of technology is exciting. Also, the people, their creativity, and their intelligence, what we call our Brainware.

3.           What advice would you give women who are trying to get into this space?

Don’t think twice and be confident.

4.           What do you see is the future of the technology space?

The way technology evolves, the possibilities are endless, from Flying Cars to Li-Fi. I also see a more diverse workforce, which will lead to better problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation that creates unique ideas.   Half of the world’s population is women, which tech companies cannot overlook, as women are decision-makers, customers, and end-users.

1.                   What got you into working in the technology space?

In 2020, I was the project manager for the IT integration of an acquisition that consisted of close to 200 employees across 5 different time zones. Upon the successful completion of that project I was provided an opportunity to lead Service Delivery and Customer Success in Cloud and Cybersecurity Solutions. This was a huge transition from 15 years of sales and operations in telecommunications.

Learning about this opportunity I was even more excited to be part of further leveraging data to enhance implementation and customer experience of our Cloud and Cybersecurity Solutions – specifically knowing that what this team delivers directly helps businesses of all sizes across the USA thrive anywhere they want to work.

2.           What inspires you to continue to grow within it?
My inspiration is to always develop and grow – daily. I have always made a priority to interject myself in projects where not only can I add value but I can also go out of my comfort zone in order to grow.

3.           What advice would you give women who are trying to get into this space?

Do not be scared to go into any aspect of the technology sector because you do not have enough technical knowledge. It is technology – it is always advancing –  learn from others, ask questions and stay up to date.

4.           What do you see is the future of the technology space?

Right now, we are watching how it takes minutes for companies and households who do not have the right security measures in place for highly sensitive data to be hacked or growth stifled because they do not have integrated solutions in place to increase collaboration and production. This emphasizes the importance of consumers whether business or personal are making product success decisions and taking preventative action constantly.

Furthermore, as various technologies and integrated solutions continue to enter the market their differentiation will require enhanced problem solving and increased innovation. Successful organizations can obtain this only by improving diversity among their teams which shed light on opportunities and vulnerabilities they currently are not aware of.
